The Portofino Relaxed Two-Piece Suit

A suit for the part of life that isn't work. The Portofino is cut soft and easy — an unstructured jacket that falls from the shoulder rather than holding it, worn with a matching trouser that drapes straight to the shoe. Nothing is stiff, nothing is fussy. It is the tailoring of a long lunch that turns into a long afternoon.

The fabric is a fluid polyester blend with a quiet, dry hand and a subtle weight that keeps the line clean as you move. It resists creasing on a train or a car seat, and it holds its shape through a season of wear. Solid throughout, in four colours chosen for their restraint: black, grey-green, grey-and-brown, and a mid grey.

The cut

• Unstructured, loose-fitting jacket with a soft shoulder and a relaxed drop
• Straight-leg trouser with an easy line from hip to hem
• Regular length; long sleeve; straight hem
• Sold as a set — jacket and trouser together

Fabric

• Chemical-fibre blend, principally polyester
• Fluid drape, low sheen, minimal creasing
• Best worn spring and autumn

How to wear it

Over a fine-gauge knit and loafers, without a tie. In the grey-green, it is a weekend suit. In black, it will carry an evening. Roll the sleeve once if the day asks for it — the cut allows for it.

Sizing

Cut to Asian sizing, which runs one to two sizes smaller than European and American measurements. If you fall between two sizes, take the larger. Available S through 5XL. Allow 2–3 cm variance on measurements taken by hand. Screen calibration may shift colour slightly from the photographs.
